Marist High School Research Checklist

*Attend Marist's Open House.  This event gives grammar school students and their families the chance to tour the school, talk with students, meet with teachers, coaches, and staff, and review the academic, athletic, extracurricular, and spiritual programs available at Marist.

Open House Date for 2010:
Sunday, November 21st from 11:00am until 3:00pm.  Please arrive by 2:15pm to receive a complete tour of the school.

*Attend "Fridays at Marist" in 8th grade.  The day allows students to attend freshman or sophomore classes and meet with teachers, as well as experience Marist for themselves.  A high school needs to feel comfortable and supportive, so unless you spend a day there, how will you know?  Check with your grammar school and be familiar with their shadow policy.

*Talk to current students.  Students who attend Marist will give you an inside perspective on what life as a RedHawk is like on a daily basis.

Examine the academic programs available.  A school should have a support system for everyone.  At Marist we have three college preparatory programs to ensure students find their strengths and build on them.

See what sports are offered for each year level.  If you're an athlete, Marist has a variety of impressive sports teams for both boys and girls.

Check out the clubs and activities available because sports are not always for everyone.  At Marist we have a wide variety of options from the Academic Team to the Yearbook Staff.  At Marist there is something for everyone.

Attend an event at the school.  Depending on your interests, find an event at the school whether it is a football game, band concert, or school play.  At Marist all grammar school students can attend these events for free.

If you attend a Catholic grammar school, find out your High School Day schedule to see when a Marist representative will be there to speak with you.
