Marist will celebrate the arts in April with a series of events showcasing student talent.
The successful speech and acting team will host its third annual showcase on Friday, April 21 at 7:30pm in the RedHawk Theater to raise money for the team's trip to Nationals in Louisville over Memorial Day weekend. The showcase is written by students and will feature performances by team competitors and various faculty members. Tickets are $5 for faculty, students, and children, and $8 for adults. Enter though the main office at the west end of campus.
The band will offer two spring concert performances with shows on Saturday, April 23 at 7pm and on Sunday, April 24 at 4pm. The group, fresh off their tour to Disney World, is ready to wow the crowd with classical pieces and modern hits. Tickets are $5 per person and are sold at the doors of the main gym.
The senior art show will take place on Thursday, April 27 from 6 to 8pm in the Murphy Art Center. It will feature student photography, drawing, painting, ceramics, and graphic design. The seniors have been diligently working to complete their portfolios for this always popular event. A sneak peek of the work is available here. Senior Trae Thompson (right) designed the event's promotional artwork. The event is free.
Also on Thursday, April 27, the Brothers' Chapel will be filled with the sounds of the season. The string ensemble will begin the evening with a performance at 6pm. The chorus will follow with a variety of tunes that are sure to entertain. The event is free and attendees should enter through the main office doors. A senior solo choral concert will be held May 11.
All events are open to the public.
