Fall Sports Tryouts

All students interested in trying out for a fall sport must be registered in advance. Additionally, all students must have a physical on file with the Athletic Department for the 2018-19 school year. 

 

Boys Cross Country - All interested candidates (all year levels) for Boys

(Freshman Team, Sophomore Team, Junior Varsity Team, and Varsity Team) for Boys Cross Country is to report to the track at 3:00pm on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

  • Bring water, running shoes, and a watch with a stopwatch.

  • To participate, a current physical must be on file; there will be no exceptions.

 

Girls Cross Country – Head Coach Pat QuinnAll interested candidates (all grade levels) for Cross Country is to report to the track at 3:00pm on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

  •  Bring running gear, running shoes, and water bottle.
  • To participate, a current physical must be on file; there will be no exceptions.

 

Football –Freshmen Coach Dan Barry

  • ALL FRESHMEN ARE WELCOME TO JOIN THE FRESHMAN TEAM.
  • Football practice for freshmen will begin on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 2:30pm till 7:00pm.  Please bring your own lunch and drink for the break provided.
  • Bring plenty of fluids (water, Gatorade, etc.), a notebook and a pen, athletic attire, football spikes, gym shoes.
  • ALL FRESHMEN MUST HAVE THEIR PHYSICAL COMPLETED.

 

Sophomore/Varsity Football – Head Sophomore Coach PJ Fortner/

  • All sophomore report Monday, August 6, 2018 at 8:00am-2:00pm.  Please bring your own lunch for the break provided.
  • All varsity players report Monday, August 6, 2018 at 2:00pm-9:00pm.  Please bring your own food for the break provided.
  • All players bring plenty of fluids (water, Gatorade, etc.), a notebook and a pen, athletic attire, football spikes, gym shoes and a lock for locker.
  • ALL SOPHOMORE AND VARSITY PLAYERS MUST BRING A CURRENT PHYSICAL – No exceptions.

 

Boys Golf – Head Coach Joel Vickers

  • Boys Golf tryouts will be a two day tryout to be held Monday, August 6, 2018 and Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Meadows Golf Club located at 2802 W. 123rd Street, Blue Island.  Tee time 6:00am for Freshmen/Sophomores and Varsity.   Every participant will play 9 holes each day and the fee is $12.00 per day.  To participate, a current physical must be on file; there will be no exceptions.

Girls Golf – Coach Ryan Doidge

  • Girls Golf tryouts will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 and Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at The Meadows Golf Club, 2802 123rd Street, Blue Island.  Tee times start 1:00pm for Junior Varsity and Varsity.  You must attend both days.  Fee for tryouts is $25.00.  To participate, a current physical must be on file; there will be no exceptions.

 

Boys Soccer – Head Coach Sean Maxwell

  • All soccer tryouts will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, August 8-9, 2018.
  • All incoming freshmen report from 7:30-10:30am at the varsity soccer field. 
  • All sophomores/JV prospective players report to the varsity soccer field from 9:00-11:30am. 
  • All players (juniors/seniors) trying out for the varsity team, report to the varsity soccer field from 7:00-9:00am and again from 4:00-5:45pm on the varsity soccer field.
  • Bring running shoes, soccer spikes, shin guards, a soccer ball, and a water bottle.

To participate, a current physical must be on file; there will be no exceptions.

 

Girls Swimming – Head Coach Kelly Sullivan

  • Girls who are interested in returning to or trying out for the swim team must register for the time trials.  Time trails consist of swimming a 50yd freestyle, 100 yd freestyle, 100yd IM, and a 100 yd stroke of choice other than free.
  • To register,  email your name, year in school, home phone number, and email address to

  • Information regarding the date, time, and place of time trials will be sent to girls who are registered.   
  • To participate in time trials, a current physical must be on file; there will be no exceptions.

 

Girls Tennis – Head Coach Nicole Selvaggio

  • All interested candidates for Girls Tennis should report to the tennis courts on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.  Tryouts will be from 9:00-11:00am.
  • Bring tennis racquet and a water bottle.
  • To participate, a current physical must be on file; there will be no exceptions.

 

Girls Volleyball – Head Coach Jordan Vidovic

  • All interested candidates (freshmen) for Girls Volleyball should report to the main gym for tryouts on Wednesday, August 8,   2018 from 11:00-2:00pm and Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 2:30-5:00pm.
  • Current sophomores, juniors and seniors should report to main gym for tryouts on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 2:00-5:00pm and Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm. 
  • All athletes interested in trying out need to bring court shoes, running shoes, and Gatorade or water. 
  • To participate, a current physical must be on file; there will be no exceptions.

 

**All incoming freshmen must attend at least one iPAD training session this year. Training is scheduled for the week of August 1-2-7-8th or Monday August 13th. Please make sure you do not sign up for a session that will conflict with the freshman tryouts. You must be present on both days. Thank you.
