Hockey wins Gateway Tournament

hockey_gateway_champsHockey had a great weekend at the Gateway Tournament in St. Louis. Led by Brendan Sise and Brendan Mahoney, JV finished in 3rd place going 2 and 2 on the weekend.  Varsity won the championship, going undefeated. Goalie Andrew Reif allowed only six goals in four games, and goalie Mike Fischer had a shut out in the game he played. Tom Scurek, Zach Meeker, and Joe Prkut provided amazing offense, combining for 56 points in goals and assists. Also a great effort by the defense, including Mike Principe, Tim Evoy, Ryan Gapski, Tristan Duszynski, and Buddy Clancy. It was a great tune-up for state playoffs starting March 12.

Congratulations to senior captains Joe Prkut and Zach Meeker in being named CCHL all-stars! Additionally, Prkut and Reif will continue their education and hockey careers at Ferris State University in Michigan..
