NLI Signing December

Seven Marist High School seniors participated in a signing ceremony at the school on Wednesday, December 20, to commit to their respective college athletic programs. Parents, coaches, and school administrators were in attendance.

Jenna Ford, a lacrosse goalie, will attend and play for Aurora University. She is a three year varsity player and is ranked 13th in Illinois for goalies. Teammate Taylor Nesbitt will continue her career at Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Mich. A midfield/defense player, she was voted most valuable player by her club New Wave Lacrosse. 

Marist running back Delonte Harrell will attend and football at Cornell University. His accolades include: 2017 ESCC Offensive Player of the Year, 2017 and 2016 ESCC all-conference selection, 2017 Illinois High School Football Coaches Association (IHSFCA) Honorable Mention All-State, 2017 Champaign News-Gazette Special Mention 100, 2017 Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown All-Area 2nd Team selection, and 2017 and 2016 IHSFCA Academic All-State Selection. 

Tight end Turon "TJ" Ivy will join the Indiana University football program next fall. TJ was a 2017 Champaign News-Gazette 1st Team All-State tight end and a 2017 Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown Honorable Mention All-Area player. 

Michael Lawlor, a defensive back, will continue his career with the University of Chicago. Michael was a 2017 ESCC all-conference selection and a 2017 and 2016 IHSFCA Academic All-State selection.

Defensive lineman Gavin McCabe will also attend and play for Indiana University. Gavin was the 2017 ESCC Co-Defensive MVP, 2016 ESCC Defensive Lineman of the Year, 2017 and 2016 ESCC All-Conference selection, 2017 IHSFCA 1st Team All-State, 2017 Champaign News-Gazette 1st team All-State, 2017 Chicago Sun-Times 1st Team All-Area selection, and 2017 Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown All-Area 1st team

Elijah Teague, a lineman, will attend and play for the University of Minnesota. Elijah was 2017 ESCC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year, 2017 IHSFCA Honorable Mention All State, 2017 Champaign News-Gazette 1st Team All-State, 2017 Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown 2nd Team All-Area selection, 2017 and 2016 ESCC All-Conference selection, 2016 ESCC Defensive MVP, and 2016 Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown Honorable Mention All-Area.

Additionally, Erin Curtin signed to play softball for Waldorf University in Iowa during a ceremony with her future school.

Marist is a member of the highly competitive East Suburban Catholic Conference and regularly garners local, state, and national accolades for its athletic program.
