Marist Community

January’s drivers ed class will begin today in room 220 immediately after school.  The class list is posted on the website and outside of the SLO.

Tonight, the Marist boys basketball faces Br Rice at 7pm.  Theme is a white out.  Students will not need tickets to get in – you must show your student ID at the door or else you will have to pay for a ticket.

Are you interested in law? Do you like to argue? Come to the first Mock Trial meeting on Thursday 1/18 at 6:30 pm in room 113. 

Francis Beeson and Caitlin Richter please see Mrs. McArdle in her office in the ARC today. All of those attending the East Coast College Trip, your permission slips are due Friday to Mrs. McArdle's office.

Anatomy and biology students, if you are interested in a trip to Northwestern Thursday evening to tour their angio suite and learn more about stroke care, ask your teacher or Mrs. McArdle for more details. Permission slips are due TOMORROW. Parking and dinner are included. 

THE CONFIRMATION CLASS meets today after school in Deacon Andy’s office.

ATTENTION SENUIOR BOYS… all senior boys attending the January Boys Kairos Retreat must attend a short information meeting tomorrow at 2:30 pm in the Chapel. Final instructions will be given at that time.

This year’s African American Heritage prayer service will be held on Friday, February 23.  If you are interested in attending, pick up a permission form from Mrs. Greenan in room 226.  There are only 35 spots available and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. All forms are due to Mrs. Greenan by February 14 at the latest.

Marist Theater Guild presents "West Side Story."  Auditions will be held in the RedHawk Theater this week.  Please see the bulletin board next to the theater for details!

Clubs

Tech Club will meet for the 2018 new year today after school in CS3.                                 

ITALIAN CLUB: come to Italian Club this Thursday, January 18th, at 2:30 pm in room 223, to watch the Oscar-winning movie La vita e' bella. Bring your favorite snack and get comfortable while enjoying a real masterpiece.

Sports

Congratulations to Marist Wrestlers Michael Leveille and Jacob Dado who captured individual championships in the Illini Classic Invitational over the weekend at Lincoln-Way East High School. Freshman Mateen Taylor also placed 4th and Junior Tim Maher took home 5th place at 220 lbs.

The RedHawks wrestle their final varsity dual of the regular season Wednesday at Providence.

Congratulations to the girls varsity basketball team for their win over Downers Grove North on Saturday in the MLK shootout. Leading the way for the RedHawks were Ally Corcoran with 8 rebounds, followed by Abby Callahan with 13 pts. and 7rebounds and Syd Affolter with 12 pts. and 6 rebounds. The RedHawks are now 15-4 and will play Joliet Catholic Wednesday at Joliet Catholic.

The boys' track and field team will meet for practice today in the McNamara Gymnasium at 2:40 pm.
