Tomorrow is the next Hawk Talk! It’s at 7pm in the theater, and all members of the Marist community are welcome to come even if you have not pre-registered. This is a great opportunity to ask questions to young alums from Marist Community

Attention Senior Service Students:  please pick up a copy of the 3rd quarter writing assignment sometime today.

ATTENTION SENIOR BOYS… the list of Participants for next week’s Boys Kairos Retreat is posted outside of Deacon Andy’s office and the Student Life Office. Please double-check the list for your name. Note that you have a MANDATORY meeting this Wednesday immediately after school in the Chapel for final instructions.

 

Freshman sophomore semi-formal forms and money are due today.

 

Seniors: if you are interested in participating in the senior vs faculty basketball game you must sign up during lunch today.  First come, first serve.

 

Practice ACT Test

On Saturday, March 10th, Marist will offer a Practice ACT Test to interested juniors and sophomores.

This is an actual retired ACT test so it will give you an excellent idea of what you can expect on the real ACT test. However, you will not be taking the writing portion.

Sign up for the practice test with Mrs. Gainer in the Guidance Office. The cost is $10.00 and money needs to be turned in when you sign up for the test. You will be unable to sign up without your payment. The test will start at 8:30 am and you should be done with testing and self-scoring by noon.

The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, February 21st.

 

This year’s African American Heritage prayer service will be held on Friday, February 23.  If you are interested in attending, pick up a permission form from Mrs. Greenan in room 226.  There are only 35 spots available and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. All forms are due to Mrs. Greenan by February 14 at the latest.

 

 

ATTENTION ALL SPANISH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS:

We will have a brief but mandatory meeting Monday, February 12th, in Rm. 211 at 2:45pm after the NHS meeting ends to discuss our Colombian week in the Cafeteria. Also, Brother Sam is coming to talk to us. Questions? See Senora Nathan-Gamauf. See you all there!

 

Attention all Bulls fans and speech team enthusiasts. The Marist Speech and Acting team will be raffling off a set of Bulls tickets for the March 5 game against the Celtics. Four seats in rows E and D in section 107 will be raffled off. These floor seats also come with a parking pass. The price is $3 for one ticket, $5 for 2 tickets, and $10 for 5 tickets. The winning ticket will be drawn on Tuesday, February 20. See Ms. Paoletti in Room 128 or any of the Speech and Acting team members to purchase.

Clubs

There will be an informational meeting for the Billiards Club immediately after school Monday, February 12th in the Cafeteria.

 

Calling Cooking Club Members! Group 3 will meet this Thursday, February 15th at 2:30 in the CAFE. Any questions? See Ms. Silva.

Sports

ATTENTION FRESHMAN BOYS INTERESTED IN PLAYING SOPHOMORE FOOTBALL NEXT YEAR

 

Please plan on attending a short organizational meeting immediately after school on Monday, February 12th.  Summer schedules and expectations will be discussed at this time.  The meeting will last approximately 10 minutes.

The Marist Boys Track and Field TEAM competed at the Evanston Indoor Track and Field Classic last Saturday. Marist Senior Steven Rowe WON the High Jump. Marist Senior Justin Williams finished SECOND in the Long Jump. Marist Freshman Jovan Marsh and Sophomore Brian Ferguson each won their heat in the 300m dash and combined for ten points in the event! Kivonte Houston, Tyler Thomas, Amari Watkins, and Antoine Davis won the Sophomore 4x200m Relay.

Congratulations to Girls Basketball Senior Ally Corcoran, Junior Abby Callahan and Freshman Syd Affolter for being picked to the East Suburban Catholic All-Conference Team. 

The Girls Basketball Team will start their State playoff run tomorrow @ Bloom High School in the first round of the Regionals. The game starts @ 6:00pm. Good Luck Ladies

On Saturday, the boys’ basketball team lost to St Viator 54-49. The Redhawks are now 22–4 on the season. The Redhawks will play again this Friday at Saint Patrick in a big conference match up. Come out and support your RedHawks!

 

There will be volleyball open gym from 4:30-6 in the small gym on Wednesday.

Attention all girls track and field members. Team gear will be passed out today at 4pm following distance practice or tomorrow at 2:30 before we leave for the meet. All gear will be distributed in room 205.
