Marist Theatre Guild proudly presents Westside Story next week, March 22-24.  Performances will be held at Morgan Park Academy.  Tickets are available in the Arc.  See Mrs. Kelly or Mrs. Gambla. $5 student and $10 general.  Don’t miss this tragic yet hope-filled love story!

 

ATTENTION SENIOR BOYS… the deadline is approaching! Reserve your spot now for the final Boys Kairos Retreat of the year. All permission forms need to be received BEFORE the Easter Break. See Deacon Andy for a permission form today.

 

CONGRATULATIONS ARE IN ORDER to the following young men and women who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last night in a ceremony with Bishop Vipick and students from four other Catholic high schools. They have been preparing since December and are now blessed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and fully initiated into our Catholic Church. They are:

 

Attention Seniors: This is a reminder to bring in COPIES of all your acceptance letters and scholarship awards to Mrs. Gainer in the Guidance Office. Even if you do not plan to attend a college, we still want to track acceptance and scholarship information. Scholarships will only be listed in the Graduation booklet if you bring in your award letters so don’t disappoint your parents, bring your letters in tomorrow!

 

The Marquette Bank Foundation Scholarship will be awarding one Marist senior with a $2500.00 scholarship. The criteria for the award is financial need, community service and scholastic achievement. Please see Mrs. Gainer in the Guidance Office for an application.  Your completed application is due to Mrs. Gainer by April 19th.

 

Junior prom forms and money are due no later than this Friday.  The google form needs to be filled out before you turn in your permission form and money.

 

The 1st payment for senior prom is due this Friday.  If you have a check make sure your name is in the memo line.  If you are paying with cash put it in an envelope with your name on it.

 

Attention Marist community. Do you love pancakes? Do you still not know what you’re doing on St. Patrick’s Day? Senior Benjamin Jackson will be selling tickets to his troop’s annual Boy Scout pancake breakfast, sponsored by Troop 609. The breakfast will take place at Morgan Park Baptist Church at 11024 S. Bell Ave. this Saturday, March 17 and will run from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. Tickets for unlimited pancakes cost $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children ages 5-10. There will also be carry-out orders for those who can’t dine in. Please see Benjamin Jackson for any more questions. 

 

  1. All girls attending the March Kairos there is a mandatory meeting today after school in the Chapel.  See Mrs. Pochyly with questions.
  2. Time to clean those closets and donate gently used items to the NHS Clothing Drive.  Clothes can be dropped off at the Main Office, Champagnat Square or outside the SLO.

Calling all Cooking Club Members! Groups 1 and 2 will meet today at 2:30 in the CAFÉ. Any questions? See Ms. Silva.

ITALIAN CLUB: Ciao! Italian Club is meeting today at 2:30 pm in room 223 to celebrate the Feast of Saint Joseph. We will have zeppole and crafts.

Sports

 

Attention Wrestlers: anyone who plans on wrestling next season must attend a meeting after school on Thursday, March 22 about summer camp and our spring wrestling schedule. The meeting will be held in the wrestling room and should only take about 10-15 minutes. Thank you.

Attention All Boys Basketball Players from this year:

There will be a brief, but important, meeting on Friday after school on the balcony of the Main Gym. Banquet information will be handed out. Any questions, please see Coach Nolan sometime today.

The RedHawks played their season opener last night defeating Oak Lawn 11-0. Freshman Abby Dunning threw a no hitter with 11 strike outs. Angela Zedak, Kelly Walinski, and Jessica Balich each had 2 RBIs.
