Marist will host its first ever Champagnat Day Wednesday, April 18. As part of the 24-hour giving event, students can dress down for a $5 donation that will be collected during homeroom. Your shirt or sweatshirt must be a Marist shirt. If at least 400 students participate on Wednesday, a Marist alum will contribute $5,000 to the Marist Fund.
You can also participate in Champagnat Day through the selfie challenges on Wednesday. The best selfies in select categories will win fun prizes! Check out the Marist website or social media pages for details. And, we will be playing Champagnat Trivia on Tuesday during lunch mods. Winning tables will receive free pizzas on Wednesday…and everyone will receive a free cookie!
The Marist Speech and Acting Team will host its 4th annual showcase this Friday, April 20th at 8 PM in the RedHawk Theatre. The showcase will feature performances from our talented National qualifiers. Admission is $5, and all proceeds will go toward the team’s trip to Nationals in May. We will also be raffling off a pair of tickets to the Cubs-Sox game on May 11. Raffle tickets are $3 for 1, $5 for 2, and $10 for 5. The winner will be drawn at the showcase. See Ms. Paoletti in Room 128 or any of the speech kids to purchase.
Marist's boxing club will host fight night on Friday, April 20 at 7pm in the main gym. Club members have been training for months and are excited to enter the ring. Admission is free for Marist students, $5 for non-Marist students, and $10 for adults.

The boys volleyball team hosts Lincoln way west in a matchup of top 5 teams tomorrow night at 6pm, come out to cheer on the program!
Last Tuesday, the Marist Boys Track and Field TEAM, upset Benet Academy, the defending conference champions, by an official score of 90 to 87. On Friday, Thomas Leonard BROKE THE SOPHOMORE SCHOOL RECORD (Dan Cole, 1983, 9:51.8) to win the Oak Lawn Spartan Invitational 3200m run with a personal best time of 9:42.06. Leonard dropped 26 seconds off his best time (10:08), and was awarded a MEDAL for winning the 3200m run. The record lasted 35 years, and Alumni legend Dan Cole sent his congratulations to Thomas Leonard. At the Spartan Invitational, Jovan Marsh won the 200m dash, and earned 3 Medals in the meet, Lucas Pennix finished second in the 1600m, Justin Williams finished in second in the Long Jump, and David Daniels finished third in the Triple Jump. The RedHawks scored 76 points, and posted victories over Richards, Tinley Park, Illiana Christian, Kankakee, Bremen, and Fenger.
