MHS Drivers Education Information

Attention all students interested in Drivers Ed:

Marist High School works in conjunction with the Driver's Education officials at Bogan High School by making classroom instruction available to our student body here at Marist High School.  Drivers Education is taught by an instructor from the  Chicago Public School System and the class is not a part of Marist's curriculum.  Classroom instruction is made available at Marist High School as a convenience to our student body throughout the year.  Starting dates of each class are posted on the Marist Website once dates are made known to us by the Chicago Public School System (Bogan High School.)

Forms should be turned in to the Main Office at Marist High School along with a $50 classroom fee payable to Marist High School.  It is the student's responsibility to enroll in the class.  Due to overwhelming call volume in the past, all information will be posted online; no calls will be taken.  Students will be placed in the class according to the order in which forms are received in the Main Office.  A class roster will be posted in the ARC once the class is filled.  Students should be prepared to meet Monday through Friday for six weeks; however, the exact schedule will be set by the instructor on the first day of class.  During the school year, classes begin at 2:30pm and end at 4:00pm.  Students must attend each class to meet state requirements for classroom instruction.  Students who are involved in after school extracurricular activities will be unable to take this class.  Students must be 15 years of age prior to beginning date of each class.  Enrollment will be open to all year levels on a first come, first served basis.  Seniors, juniors and sophomores will be taken ahead of freshmen.  A current Marist ID must be presented on the first day of class.
