On March 23, 18 students and their three chaperones traveled over 4,000 miles to embark on their 10 day adventure across Europe. From Italy to Switzerland, this Marist family visited five different countries. Beginning their trip in Verona, Italy, the students got to experience the history of the country and see the famous Romeo and Juliet balcony. Traveling through the Dolomite Alps, all the students went underground to tour a salt mine in Germany. Several memorable tour guides enlightened our trip and taught us about the early years of Mozart as we toured his house in Austria. Our journey even took us to Switzerland, where we walked through the stunning city of Lucerne and marveled at the Glacier Gardens.
This short trip was jam packed with amazing local restaurants, breathtaking views and unforgettable moments. From the schnitzel in Salzburg to the authentic Swiss fondue, we all gained a new sense of the culture we were surrounded by. This trip for many was a once in a life time opportunity. The memories will be unforgettable, and the firsthand knowledge we gained will carry on with us for the rest of our lives.
