Summer Visual Art

Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are eligible to take one visual art course during the summer of 2020. Students interested in enrolling in either art course should inform their counselor during course registration or email Mr. Gouterman by February 14, 2020. 

Course offerings will be dependent on student demand; an email will be sent out the week of February 24 to confirm enrollment along with payment information.

Dates/Time: June 1 – June 25 (Mon - Thurs)

Time:  8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Location: Art Studio
Credit: 0.5 credit
Cost: $250.00

Attendance for all 16 sessions is required in order to earn the semester credit.

 

Drawing and Painting 1

Prerequisites: Sophomore, junior or senior standing for the 2020 – 2021 school year.

Course Description:  In this course, students will focus on developing drawing and painting skills in addition to gaining a working knowledge of various art materials.  Students will begin to discover their own personal technique and mode of expression. 

 

Drawing and Painting 2
Prerequisites: Completion of DP1 and/or Intro to Visual Arts and approval by past instructor(s). 

Course Description:  In this course, students will develop greater technical skills in rendering form in drawing and painting. A more creative approach to visual problems will be embraced in this second year course. Painting styles and techniques will be explored as well as how to develop a series.
