Marist High School announced the 2020 football schedule highlighted by 2019 7A state champion Mt. Carmel High School and ESCC/CCL rivals Br. Rice High School, Loyola Academy, Fenwick High School, Nazareth Academy, Notre Dame High School, and St. Patrick High School. Once again, the schedule is expected to be among the most competitive in the state of Illinois.
In addition to six Friday night tilts at Red & White Stadium, Marist will take on Notre Dame, Mt. Carmel, and Nazareth under the lights on the road this year. The RedHawks begin their season playing consecutive home games versus Curie on August 28 and Lake Zurich on September 4.
Marist will travel to Niles, Ill., on September 11 while attempting to avenge last year’s 21-14 loss to the Dons. Next, 2019 8A state semifinalists match up as the RedHawks welcome Br. Rice to 115th Street on September 18 followed by the Fenwick Friars at home on September 25.
The RedHawks hit the road to take on the 2019 7A state champion, Mt. Carmel, and 7A runner-up Nazareth in consecutive weeks on October 2 and 9.
A two-game homestand opens on October 16 as long-time ESCC foe St. Patrick visits Marist. The RedHawks will look to build on a consecutive game win streak over Loyola Academy when the Ramblers travel to the South Side to conclude the regular season on October 23.
The IHSA 8A state playoffs begin October 30.
