Seven Marist High School seniors participated in a National Letter of Intent signing ceremony on Wednesday, November 8 in the school’s RedHawk Theater. The event confirmed their plans to continue their academic and athletic careers at the college level.
The volleyball program had three student-athletes participate. Setter Molly Murrihy will attend and play for the University of Memphis. Savannah Thompson, an outside hitter, will head to Central Michigan University. Grace Green a defensive specialist, will attend and play for Radford University in Virginia.
Baseball players Jack Anderson, an outfielder, and pitcher Jason Trbovic will attend Kenyon College of Ohio and Loras College in Iowa, respectively.
Two softball team members also signed. Centerfielder Kara Apato will play for Northern Illinois University, while Maggie Kehoe, an infielder, will join the Western Michigan University team. Both girls were instrumental in Marist’s 2015 state championship.
More commitments are expected as the school year continues. Marist is a member of the competitive East Suburban Catholic Conference and its athletes and teams regularly garner success at the local and state levels.
