Marist's varsity poms team advanced to the state finals after finishing second in the competitive sectional held at Geneva High School on January 25.
The state competition runs Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1 at Grossinger Mortors Arena in Bloomington, Ill. Friday is the preliminary round. The day starts at 10 a.m. with alternating performances from class 1A and 2A starting at 10:15 a.m. Marist takes the floor at 10:43 a.m. At 2:40 p.m. 1A finalists will be announced followed by 2A at 2:50 p.m. Marist competes in 2A.
If the team advances to Saturday, doors open at 10 a.m. and competition begins at 11 a.m. Awards are at 1 p.m. for class 2A.
Tickets are $10 per person each day. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate. The event will also be streamed on NFHS for a fee. Grossinger Motors Arena is located at 101 S. Madison Street in Bloomington. Please note the facility's clear bag policy.
