Girls' basketball coach Mary Pat Connolly picks up 400th win

Photo_Feb_04,_8_01_14_PMMarist High School girls' basketball coach Mary Pat Connolly picked up her 400th career win during a victory over Marian Central Catholic on Monday, February 4.

The game was also senior night for the program and celebrated Abby Callahan, Nora Donegan, and McKenna Kallianis. 

Connolly has been the girls' head coach since the school went coed in 2002. Her teams have captured regional, sectional, and super-sectional titles. The program placed fourth in state in 2007.

She was inducted into the National Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in June 2018 for her time in the Women’s Basketball League (WBL) from 1978 to 1981. 

Before her time in the WBL, Connolly, then Mary Pat Travnik, had a decorated career at with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She still remains a record leader in scoring, rebounding, double-doubles, and more.
