Attention Juniors:  Completed applications for next year’s senior service can be dropped off in Deacon Andy’s office.  The deadline to turn them in is February 12.

Clubs

Calling all Chefs! Group 1 will meet on Tuesday, February 11th at 3:00 in the Cafe. Please look for Ms. Mazur.

 

Attention all Bulls fans and speech team enthusiasts! The Marist Speech and Acting team will be raffling off a set of Bulls tickets for the March 18 game against the Heat. Four seats in rows E and D in section 107 will be raffled off. These floor seats also come with a parking pass. The price is $3 for one ticket, $5 for 2 tickets, and $10 for 5 tickets. The winning ticket will be drawn Thursday, February 13. See Ms. Paoletti in Room 128, Mr. Distasio in Room 213 or any of the Speech and Acting team members to purchase.

Sports

The Marist Wrestling Team finished in second place at the Stagg Regional this past Saturday. Although they fell short in their bid to win a team championship, they had a very successful day by qualifying 12 out of 14 wrestlers. Finishing in third place were Brandon Weber and Andrew Dado, second place finishers were Ethan Bednarczyk, Tommy Boland, Michael Bartolotta, Marty Howard, Luke Liberatore and Tommy Munoz and Regional Champions were Owen Dunlap, Mateen Taylor, Bobby Gaylord and Ghee Rachel. Our Wrestlers will compete for a chance to go down state this Friday and Saturday in the Sectional Tournament at Hinsdale Central High School. Good luck Redhawk Wrestlers!

Last Saturday, the Marist Boys Track and Field TEAM traveled to Rockford Auburn High School to compete in a field of 22 high schools at the Jerry Lowe Invitational. The RedHawks had a record of 20-1 on the day, and were awarded a Plaque for finishing in SECOND place overall! Marist Junior Jovan Marsh, Sophomore Michael Coy, Junior Jamari Grant, and Senior Brian Ferguson were awarded GOLD MEDALS for winning the 4x200m Relay! Junior Jamari Grant was also awarded a GOLD MEDAL for winning the Triple Jump! Senior Thomas Leonard was awarded a GOLD MEDAL for winning the 3200m run! Junior Carter Auer was awarded a SILVER MEDAL for finishing in second place in the High Jump! Junior Jovan Marsh was awarded a BRONZE MEDAL for finishing in third place in the 60m dash! Sophomore Andrew Kerlin, Junior Tommy Kavanaugh, Senior Caleb Davis, and Junior Kevin Bugos scored for the RedHawks in the 4x800m Relay! Freshman Danny Olsen scored for the RedHawks in the 800m run! Senior Tyler Thomas cleared 2.13m in the Pole Vault! Sophomore Brendan Geary anchored the RedHawks 4x400m Relay past Hampshire for the final point scored in the meet. The RedHawks will travel to Willie May Fieldhouse at Evanston High School next Saturday.
