The Explore program is hosting an in-school Hawk Talk on Monday, October 15th during lunch mods for anyone interested in a career in law. Alum Colleen Couture '10 will present and answer questions. Lunch will be provided, so you must sign up in Mrs. McArdle's office or via e-mail.

ATTENTION ALL SPANISH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS:
Today, is our next mandatory meeting at 2:30 in Rm. 211, don’t forget! We welcome Marist alum Claire Stillman to tell us about her service work in Puerto Rico and we will be talking about the Day of the Dead Race and the Corazon a Corazon children’s tutoring project.
Over the weekend the girls volleyball team went 4-1 in the Asics Challenge National Tournament losing only to #1 in the country Assumption from Louisville.
Congratulations to the girls volleyball players on a 56 match winning streak over the past 2 seasons which goes down in the state and national record books as one of the longest match win streaks of all time.
Last Saturday, the women’s cross country team raced in the Wheaton North Invitational where 60 of the 64 runners established new best times of the year.
Top performances were turned in by Nora McClorey, Lindsey Richter, Amanda Tracy, and Jill Borza. Brigid Englehart and Emma Karczewski had their personal best times.
Congratulations to the Marist varsity soccer team on their performance in the River Region Rumble in Kentucky this weekend. The team went 2-1 and placed third in the tournament. We opened with a 2-1 win over the host school, McCracken on goals from Vinny Messineo and Liam Bennett. The last game of the weekend was against Notre Dame from Missouri and was a 2-1 win to win the third place match. Goals were scored by Nick Quinn and crowd favorite Brian Garza. The team is now 10-4-1 and heads to St. Pat's tonight for a conference showdown. The game is at Triton College at 6:00 pm.
On Saturday, the Marist Varsity Men Cross Country TEAM posted 36 Victories at the Niles West Pat Savage Invitational. There was 586 runners in the Varsity race. Evanston's Maximus Peterson and Marist's Thomas Leonard finished 1-2! It was the most spectacular finish in the history of the meet! Leonard ran a pure guts race with an outstanding time of 15:29.15. Marist Senior Lucas Pennix finished second for the RedHawks. Marist Junior Caleb Davis finished third for the RedHawks. Marist Senior Colin Tracy finished fourth for the RedHawks. Marist Freshman Brendan Geary completed the scoring by finishing fifth for the RedHawks. Brendan Geary ran a personal best time, and finished ahead of the fifth runner from 34 Teams!"
Note: The Marist Varsity Men competed against 51 Teams, and finished tenth in Class 3A division, and 15th in the combined results (Class 1A, 2A, and 3A), and posted 36 victories!
Congratulations to the girls varsity tennis team who won on Senior Night with a 5-0 sweep over Richards High School. Winning for Marist were: Nicole Micklin, Kali Case, Bella Rabianski, Kat Balchunas, Sonya Dremak, Molly Malloy, Rocky Davis, and Anna Allen. Special shoutout to our five seniors: Brette Browne, Aoife Dolan, Rose Enright, Megan Griffin, and Karina Joyce who all played well!
