SADD Club is sponsoring Red Ribbon Week which kicks off tomorrow, Tuesday October 22nd!  There will be a $3 dress down day to celebrate.  Wristbands will be sold before school from 7:30-8:30 a.m.  Please see Mrs. Novak in Guidance with any questions.


Tomorrow night, the volleyball program takes on Benet at home! Conference championship is on the line on all levels and Benet and Marist varsity are both currently ranked top 10 in the nation. Theme is RED OUT! Be there! Game time is 6pm

Marist soccer begins its state run Tuesday at 7pm as it hosts Lincoln-Way East in the regional semi. Come out and cheer on your RedHawks! 

The Marist varsity boys' cross country team finished in SECOND place at the ESCC Championships on Saturday. Senior Thomas Leonard led the RedHawks, and captured the ESCC Individual title, by running the final mile in 4:58 to become ESCC Cross Country Champion! Marist had five athletes place in the Top 23 to earn ALL CONFERENCE  HONORS on the Varsity level, including: Sophomore Jake Phillips (6th), Junior Tommy Kavanaugh (10th), Junior Kevin Bugos (15th), and Sophomore Andrew Kerlin (18th). The Marist Sophomore Boys Cross Country Team also finished in SECOND place at the ESCC Championships on Saturday. Sophomore Brendan Geary had amazing kick in the final 300m of the race to finish in second place overall at the ESCC Championships. Marist had six athletes place in the Top 23 to earn ALL CONFERENCE HONORS on the Sophomore level, including: Sophomore Luke Bruin (13th), Sophomore Michael Golden (15th), Freshman Walter Fleming (21st), Sophomore Lester Scott (22nd), and Sophomore Danny Enright (23rd). The Marist Junior Varsity Boys Cross Country Team also finished in SECOND place at the ESCC Championships on Saturday. Junior Jonathan Rivera and Junior Tommy Wagner earned ALL CONFERENCE HONORS on the Junior Varsity Boys level. The Top 7 Junior Varsity Boys included: Sophomore Luis Esparza, Freshman Owen Senese, Sophomore Anthony Blasco, Freshman Joe Kratzer, and Freshman Jake Olsen. The RedHawks will host the IHSA Regional Championships on Saturday, October 26, 2019. A TEAM Meeting will take place at 3 pm in the Marist Cafeteria on Monday, October 21, 2019 to vote on Banquet Awards, and commence preparations for the IHSA Regionals, Sectionals, and STATE Championships!

Last Saturday, the girls’ cross country team placed 2nd at both levels at St. Viator.  In the varsity race, Nora McClorey and Amanda Tracy were named all-conference.  In the frosh-soph race, the team was led by Emma Karczewski, Abby Quinn, and Megan Cavanaugh placing 4th, 6th and 7th.  Alyssa Zon, Sophia Ortega, Cara Riney and Brooke O’Leary also medaled and were honored as frosh/soph all-conference runners.

Any student interested in joining the wrestling team should attend a brief informational meeting on Wednesday, November 6, after school in the wrestling room. Wrestling practices begin Monday, November 11. If you have any questions, please see Coach Heffernan in room 117.

All freshman and sophomore girls interested in lacrosse—we are meeting every Monday from 6-7:30 p.m. for “open field” workouts.  Bring your lacrosse stick and dress appropriately for the weather.  We meet at the flag pole outside by the turf field.
