Attention all 1st semester ceramic students!  Glazed pieces are on a table in the hallway outside the Ceramic room.  Bisque pieces are on the table inside the Ceramic studio.  Please come to claim your artwork!

 

Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?”  We at Marist, in honor of Martin Luther King day, are collecting new and used Children Books for less fortunate kids in the Chicago area.  Drop Boxes are located outside the SLO and in Champagant Square.  The MLK drive runs through January 18.  Remember as MLK said “the time is always right to do what’s right”. See Mrs. Pochyly for more information.

Attention Senior Boys: If you would like attend the February Boys Kairos Retreat and have not signed up, please see Coach Brennan in the SLO for a permission form as soon as possible.

This Wednesday, 1/16, during the first Hawk Talk of 2019, alum Ian Schaller '06 will share his experience working in the field of health physics at Argonne National Lab in the Main Office Conference Room during lunch mods. Space is limited; please sign up by e-mailing Mrs. McArdle with your name & lunch mod. You can also see her in her office to sign up. Snacks will be served. 

 

Mock Trial will resume meeting this Wednesday after school in room 113 from 2:45-3:45. Please review most recent Showbie assignments prior to our meeting. 

 

Clubs

Marist Ultimate will be beginning soon.  Please join us tomorrow (Tuesday) after school in Room 102 for an informational meeting about workouts, practices, and Spirit of the Game.  Please see Mr. Lesher with any questions.

Varsity and JV girls’ bowling team - please see Mrs. Chambers in room 214 sometime this morning.

The RedHawk Wrestlers competed at the 18 team Illini Classic this weekend and earned a 6th place finish. Place winners for the RedHawks were; in 6th place, Mateen Taylor, in 5th place Kendrick Nowling, finishing in 4th place were Bobby Gaylord and Tim Maher, second place finishers were Owen Dunlap and Jacob Dado and winning the championship was Michael Leveille. Great job Wrestlers!

 

Boys’ track and field practices commence today, Monday, January 14, 2019. A TEAM meeting will take place BEFORE the first practice in the Marist Cafeteria at 2:30 pm to introduce the coaching staff. ALL members of the Track and Field TEAM must be registered online BEFORE attending the first practice of the 2019 season. Parents can register athletes online at www.marist.net, then click on the Athletics Tab, then click on the Schedules Tab, and then click on the Registration Tab. If you have any questions, please contact Marist Head Coach Jon Gordon at Gordon.Jon@Marist.net.

 

Attention all girls interested in track and field.  All athletes who would like to run sprints or compete in field events this upcoming spring indoor and outdoor season there is a mandatory meeting after school today, Monday 1/14 in room 120.  This is a brief yet important meeting all sprint and field event athletes will need to attend.
