The Archdiocese of Chicago is having their annual African American Heritage Prayer Service on Friday February 22nd.  If you are interested in going, please see Mr. Christensen in the Guidance Office for information and a permission form. 

RELAY FOR LIFE dress down day is this Friday.  Wear purple and bring $3.00 to support the American Cancer Society and honor anyone you know who has had cancer.

Are you interested in molecular biology and / or the law? Sign up for this Friday's Hawk Talk during your lunch mod in the main office conference room by e-mailing or seeing Mrs. McArdle. Pizza and cookies will be served for those who RSVP in advance. Explore students and mock trial club members are encouraged to attend!


The next Mock Trial meeting is Wednesday 2/6 from 2:45-3:45 in room 113. 


The meeting for students traveling on the East Coast College Tour is Wednesday 2/6 at 6pm in room 113. Students and a parent / guardian should attend.

The chess team will have practice today in the ARC.   Please be ready by 2:30PM.

French Club will meet this Thursday, Feb. 7 at 2:30 in room 216 to explore the vibrant visual history of Haitian Folk Art and to re-create some famous examples of this world renowned art. All are welcome.


ATTENTION ALL SPANISH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY STUDENTS: Our next mandatory meeting is this coming Monday, February 4, at 2:30 in Rm. 211. We will have a visit from one of the Hearts in Motion volunteers and begin forming our Committees plus more info on our shirt. See you all there!

The Marist Speech and Acting team competed at the IHSA Regional at Eisenhower on Saturday, advancing six students to Sectionals. Senior Maurice Brooks qualified in extemporaneous speaking, sophomore Una Fortier in declamation, senior Kristen Kolp double qualified in both informative speaking and special occasion speaking, Emma Ortega qualified in poetry, and Sarah Peck in original oratory.  The sectional team competes at Thornton on Saturday. Go RedHawks!




Congratulations to the girls’ varsity basketball team on Saturday's play over Fenwick High School. Varsity won 47-44. Their record is now (19-7). Varsity will play their last conference game vs. Marian Central tonight at 7:00pm. It is also senior night and we will be honoring our three seniors:  Abby Callahan, Nora Donegan and McKenna Kallianis. Come join us for the senior roses at 6:30 p.m.


Congratulations to the Marist girls' cheer team on their runner up finish at the IHSA state finals this weekend.  The team will be recognized via a hallway parade with the Marist band during homeroom.  


Congratulations to Bridey Regan and Ashlin Pazkill.  They are representing Marist as individual gymnastics competitors in IHSA sectional competition on Monday, after advancing from the regional round.


Congratulations to the RedHawk wrestling team for finishing in second place at the regional championships this past Saturday. Individuals finishing in 4th place were; Michael Bartolotta, Tommy McAullife, Jack Kilroe and Dan Scarnavack.  Wrestlers advancing to Sectional Competition were, in 3rd place; Bobby Gaylord, Kendrick Nowling, Tim Maher and Tom Munoz. Finishing in 2nd place were; Mateen Taylor, Jacob Dado and Ghee Rachel. Champions for the Redhawks were, Owen Dunlop and Michael Laveille. The RedHawks will compete in the sectional tournament this coming Friday and Saturday at Bolingbrook High School. Go wrestlers!


The Marist boys’ track and field TEAM opened up the 2019 season last Saturday with 12 VICTORIES, including an impressive victory over host Rockford Auburn high school. The meet featured 60 athletes in every event. Marist junior Brian Ferguson WON the 400m dash! Marist junior Thomas Leonard finished in SECOND place in the 3200m run! Marist sophomore Jovan Marsh finished in SECOND place in the 60m Dash, and fifth in the 200m dash. Sophomore Jovan Marsh, junior Keyon Turner, junior Antoine Davis, and junior Kivonte Houston finished fourth in the 4x200m Relay. Junior Caleb Davis, freshman Brendan Geary, senior Alexis Arreola, and senior Lucas Pennix finished seventh in the 4x800m Relay.


Congratulations to the girls’ bowling team at the GCAC championship!  Varsity took 3rd place and J.V. was fourth place all season.  This past Saturday, varsity competed at the regionals and our senior, Alyssa Lang, is going to sectionals next Saturday.  It was a great season!
