Attention Juniors: Peer Leadership applications are due to Ms. Rakauskas’ office in the ARC by TOMORROW Tuesday, February 6th.  Please see Ms. Rakauskas with any questions.


ATTENTION JUNIORS… Tomorrow id the deadline to turn in your Peer Leadership and Senior Service application forms. Don’t miss out on these great opportunities. Peer Leadership forms go to Ms. Rakauskas. Senior Service forms go to Mr. Hyland or Deacon Andy.


ATTENTION SENIOR BOYS… THIS FRIDAY is the deadline to sign up for the February Boys Kairos Retreat. There are only a few spots left, so get your permission form in to Deacon Andy.


Practice ACT Test


On Saturday, March 10th, Marist will offer a Practice ACT Test to interested juniors and sophomores.


This is an actual retired ACT test so it will give you an excellent idea of what you can expect on the real ACT test. However, you will not be taking the writing portion.


Sign up for the practice test with Mrs. Gainer in the Guidance Office. The cost is $10.00 and money needs to be turned in when you sign up for the test. You will be unable to sign up without your payment. The test will start at 8:30 am and you should be done with testing and self-scoring by noon.


The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, February 21st.


This year’s African American Heritage prayer service will be held on Friday, February 23.  If you are interested in attending, pick up a permission form from Mrs. Greenan in room 226.  There are only 35 spots available and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. All forms are due to Mrs. Greenan by February 14 at the latest.

Unsure about where to go to college? Still don't even know where to apply? Save the date for our next Hawk Talk on February 13th with four young alums who will discuss their college experiences and share advice. 

Mock Trial will meet tonight at 6pm in room 113. New members are still welcome. See Mrs. McArdle with any questions. 


 French Club and French National Honor Society will meet Thursday after school in 216 to make Valentines for orphans in Haiti. Please bring any Valentine’s themed paper or materials that you would like to use, but candy is not needed.


Calling Cooking Club Members!! Group 2 will meet this Thursday, 2/8/18 at 2:30 in the CAFÉ. Any questions? See Ms. Silva.


Billiards Club will be meeting in the cafe after school today to discuss details about this upcoming season, if you are interested please join us.


Marist Wrestling hosted the IHSA Individual wrestling regional Saturday. The RedHawks qualified 5 wrestlers for this weekend’s Hinsdale Central sectional. Both Michael Leveille and Jacob Dado won regional championships, while Mateen Taylor and Tom Munoz were runners-up. Bob Gaylord also qualified with a third place finish.


Over the weekend the boys basketball team went 2-0.  On Friday night, The Redhawks defeated Notre Dame 45–37 in overtime. On Saturday, the RedHawks defeated St. Ignatius 53–37.

The RedHawks are now 21-3  overall, and 5–1 in conference.

Boys volleyball open gym will be Wednesday from 3:30-5 in the small gym. See coach vidovic with questions

The Marist Boys Track and Field TEAM opened up the Indoor Season with impressive victories over Libertyville, South Elgin, Hampshire, Winnebago, Rockford Auburn, Elgin, Rockford Luthern, and Rockford Jefferson at the Jerry Lowe Invitational in Rockford, Illinois. Marist Senior Steven Rowe WON the High Jump. Marist Sophomore Thomas Leonard WON the 3200m run. Freshman Jovan Marsh scored for the Varsity in both the 60m Dash and 200m dash."



Attention all male swimmers – if you are interested in competing in the IHSA Swimming Sectional being held on 2/17/18 please see Mr. Simpson in the athletic office if you have not done so already by 2/6/18.
