Marist Community

Driver’s ed is cancelled today.  Class will resume tomorrow.

Mock Trial will meet tonight at 6pm in room 113. New members are still welcome. See Mrs. McArdle with questions.

Save the date for Career Night on Wednesday, April 11th from 7-8pm in Champagnat Square. Marist alums in over 25 different fields and careers will be on hand to discuss their career paths. All members of the Marist community are welcome. 

Marist Theatre Guild proudly presents Westside Story this week, March 22-24.  Performances will be held at Morgan Park Academy.  Tickets are available in the Arc.  See Mrs. Kelly or Mrs. Gambla. $5 student and $10 general.  Don’t miss this tragic yet hope-filled love story!


ATTENTION SENIOR BOYS… the deadline is approaching! Reserve your spot now for the final Boys Kairos Retreat of the year. All permission forms need to be received BEFORE the Easter Break. See Deacon Andy for a permission form today.


Attention Seniors:


This is a reminder to bring in COPIES of all your acceptance letters and scholarship awards to Mrs. Gainer in the Guidance Office. Even if you do not plan to attend a college, we still want to track acceptance and scholarship information.


Scholarships will only be listed in the Graduation booklet if you bring in your award letters so don’t

disappoint your parents, bring your letters!


The Marquette Bank Foundation Scholarship will be awarding one Marist senior with a $2500.00 scholarship. The criteria for the award is financial need, community service and scholastic achievement. Please see Mrs. Gainer in the Guidance Office for an application.  Your completed application is due to Mrs. Gainer by April 19th.




SADD Club will meet immediately after school tomorrow for pizza and trivia games in room 209. We will also discuss our upcoming spring activities and programs. Please see Mrs. Novak with questions.


It’s Guacapalooza time!  This Friday, bring your team and your best guacamole recipe to Spanish club.  You must provide your own ingredients and kitchenware, and be ready to square off against all the other guac enthusiasts at Marist.  Prizes will be awarded for the best guacamole.   You don’t need to be a member of Spanish club to participate; all are welcome!



Last Saturday, at the Gene Armer Invitational at the University of Illinois Armory, Marist Senior Martin Smith WON the 60m High Hurdles, and qualified for Illinois Top Times, the "Indoor State Championships", next Saturday with an outstanding time of 8.51. Marist Sophomore Brian Ferguson finished in SECOND place in the 400m dash, and also qualified for Illinois Top Times, the "Indoor State Championships", next Saturday with an indoor personal best time of 52.25. Marist Sophomore Thomas Leonard finished in SECOND place in the 3200m with a personal best time of 10:08, and scored in the 1600m. Marist Freshman Jovan Marsh finished in THIRD Place in the 60m dash. Marist Senior Steven Rowe earned a MEDAL in the High Jump with a leap of 6'0. The Marist RedHawks took home a record number of Medals, and finished among the Top Teams in the Invitational!

Attention Wrestlers: anyone who plans on wrestling next season must attend a meeting after school on Thursday, March 22, about summer camp and our spring wrestling schedule. The meeting will be held in the wrestling room and should only take about 10-15 minutes. Thank you.
