Daily Announcements 3/19/19

Lost & Found:  We have power Beats in the main office, if it belongs to you please stop in.  We have a Rose/Gold IPhone in the main office. 

There is a graphing calculator that was left in the ARC on Monday. Please stop by and identify it if it is yours.

The ARC will be closed after school on Wednesday for an event.  Please go to the cafeteria after school.  Tutoring will still be held in the back of the ARC after school.

ATTENTION JUNIORS… What are you doing on the last Monday of April? Why not treat yourself to something special and sign up for the spring Junior Retreat! It’s one day… all day… and will be well-worth your time away from it all! See Deacon Andy in the Main Office for a registration form.

Tickets for The Sound of Music are available for purchase before, during and after school in the ARC.  Tickets are $5-student and $10 general.

Students in AP Physics this year and next year are reminded that permission slips for the field trip to Argonne are due to Mr. Lesher or Mrs. McArdle  by TODAY! If you need a copy, please see Mrs. McArdle in the Explore office today or send her an e-mail.


Save the date for two march Hawk Talks -- next Wednesday, March 27th at 6pm in the ARC alum Bernadette Heitschmidt '12 will discuss adjusting to college, sharing her insights from her work in residence life at Marquette and Northern Illinois. Upperclassmen and parents are encouraged to attend!


Next Thursday, March 28th three engineers Marist parent Greg McCalin, alum Kevin Slanicky '95, and Tom Ratajczek '98 will discuss different career paths in engineering during lunch mods in the main office conference room. E-mail Mrs. McArdle to reserve your spot. As always, pizza and treats will be served and space is limited. 



Calling all Chefs! Group 1 will meet today at 2:30 in the CAFE.

There will be a Mock Trial meeting on Wednesday, 3/20 after school from 2:45-3:45 in room 113.




Congratulations to Marist Junior Brian Ferguson (400m dash), Sophomore Jovan Marsh (60m and 200m dash), and Junior Thomas Leonard (3200m run) for qualifying for the Indoor State Track and Field Championships (Illinois Top Times) in Bloomington on March 23. A TEAM meeting will take place before practice today, by the bleachers next to the Track at 2:45 pm.


The girls’ track and field team competed at EIU over break. Kaylin Stratham was the top sprinter at the whole meet winning the 60 meter and 200 meter dash. Ashlin Pazkill also medaled in the hurdles.  Last night Glenbrook south individual placers included Rorriel Curry in Long Jump and The high hurdles. Kaitlyn OBrien, Eirin O’Sullivan, Nora Poole in Pole vault, Payton Ross and Ashlin Pazkill in the hurdles, Grace Misunus and Yasmin Evans In Hurdles and Amanda Tracey  and Nora McClorey in the 800. Good luck to the girls running on Thursday at Batavia.
