On Wednesday night, the Marist Boys Track and Field TEAM finished in SECOND place at the ESCC Championships with 106 points, and posted victories over: 3. St. Viator (86), 4. Notre Dame (77), 5. Marian Catholic (54), 6. Carmel Catholic (42), 7. St. Patrick (40 ), 8. Marian Central Catholic (24), 9. Nazareth Academy (9), and 10. Joliet Catholic (5). Marist Freshman Jovan Marsh WON the Varsity 100m dash with a personal best time of 10.96, and BROKE THE SOPHOMORE SCHOOL RECORD in the 200m dash with an official time of 22.28. The record lasted 36 years (1982, 22.80), and was held by Alumni legend Tom Marszewski. Marist Sophomore Brian Ferguson WON the Varsity 400m dash, breaking his own SOPHOMORE SCHOOL RECORD with a personal best time of 50.77. Ferguson also scored in the 200m dash. Marist Senior Martin Smith WON the Varsity 110m High Hurdles with a personal best time of 15.12. Martin Smith, Keyon Turner, Tom Johnson, and Kendric Nowling were awarded Gold Medals for winning the 4x200m Relay. Marist Senior David Daniels won the triple Jump. Marist Senior Steven Rowe won the high jump. Marist Seniors Justin Williams and David Daniels both jumped over 21'0 in the Long Jump! The Marist Boys Track and Field Team will meet in the Marist Cafeteria at 2:35 pm on Thursday in preparation for the IHSA Sectional Championships!"
