ATTENTION MARIST SPANISH STUDENTS:

 

Are you interested in hosting a Marist student from Barcelona, Spain this November? If so pick up an information sheet & application outside of Rm211 and turn it in to your Spanish teacher as soon as possible. Questions? See or email Senora Nathan-Gamauf!

 

ATTENTION SENIORS… We need you!! If you would like to be a Eucharistic Minister at our school Masses this year, please come to one of the training sessions THIS WEDNESDAY or FRIDAY immediately after school in the Chapel. Training takes about an hour. That’s Wednesday at 1:40 pm and Friday at 2:30 pm. You don’t have to come to both, just pick one.

 

Students Against Destructive Decisions Club will host a “meet & greet” for Freshmen and Sophomores on Tuesday, September 4th immediately after school.  Come to Room 209 for free pizza and to learn more about SADD Club. Current members welcome too!

Calling all RETURNING Cooking Club Members! There will be a short information meeting in 221 this Thursday, August 30th right after school. Any questions? See Ms. Silva.

Past members of Model United Nations: there will be brief Model UN meeting tomorrow after school (August 29th) in room 214. Please let Ms. Jorgensen know if you can't make it.

Sports

Congratulations to the varsity soccer team on their 3-1 start to the season.  We won our opener over Lincolnway East on Tuesday, 2-0.  Over the weekend, the team needed two shootouts to outlast Argo 3-2 and Shepard 2-1.  Goals were scored by Joe Shannon, Pat Clancy and Brian Davila in regulation of the two games.  John Kennedy came up with three saves in each shootout!  The team will host Lemont tonight at 6:30 in the Red and White Stadium.

There will be a short 5 minute meeting on Thursday after school in the small gym for any boys interested in playing volleyball in the spring

 

Girls volleyball won the 32-team Plainfield Invite going 5-0 on the weekend. Junior Camryn Hannah was named tournament MVP. Mattie McCabe and Avery Jedry were all-tournament. RedHawk volleyball takes on 12-time state champion St. Francis at home on Wednesday at 6pm.

 

Attention all wrestlers not in a fall sport:

 

There will be a brief informational meeting Thursday, August 30, in the wrestling room at 2:30. Please see Coach Heffernan in Room 132 if you cannot make the meeting due to the early dismissals.
