Daily Announcements 9/14/18

There will be an informational meeting at 6pm on Tuesday, September 18th in room 113 for any students and parents interested in learning more about the college tour to schools in the D.C. and Carolina area over President's Day Weekend 2019. Questions? See Mrs. McArdle in the Explore office.

The first Hawk Talk will feature Marist seniors who attended college programs, interned, worked, and /or volunteered during summer 2018. This is a great way to learn from our seniors and learn what the Explore Program is all about. The event is from 7-8pm on Tuesday, September 18th. All members of the Marist community are welcome. 


Marist will be having our first Road Mass this Sunday at St. Barnabas for the 10:00am mass.  Let’s pray together as RedHawks and then share some breakfast.  See Mrs. Pochyly or Mr. Brennan in the SLO for the details.

Juniors and seniors who qualified for the National Honor Society have received an email from Mrs. Pochyly.  Make sure to fill out the attached application and return it to Mrs. Pochyly by September 17.

Spanish club: Are you going to the Homecoming Dance, but you're not sure how to dance? Spanish club is here to help! We will help you to learn to dance to Reggaeton, flamenco, tango, and more. Refreshments will also be served. The meeting is today from 2:20-3:30 in Room 214. Vamos a bailar!

The first Mock Trial meeting will be next week on Wednesday, September 19th at 2:45 in room 113. The meeting will last about an hour. All returning members are expected to attend and new members are welcome. See Mrs. McArdle with any questions. 

Both levels of the Frosh/Soph and Varsity Academic Team will meet on Tuesday, Sept.18th for our first practice. If you are a returning or new member, you must sign up Tuesday after school in room 107. If you enjoy playing trivia games then this club is for you. Freshmen and sophomores who have never played before are welcome to be a part of this team! Any questions, please see Mr. Nicholson in room 107.



Congratulations to the girls varsity tennis team who defeated Providence Catholic High School 3-2! All three doubles teams swept with wins from Kat Balchunas, Bella Rabianski, Sonya Dremak, Molly Malloy, and Rocky Davis and Eliza Shroba who clinched the team win. 

Boys’ Basketball Open Gym Schedule for next week:  Open gyms will be held next week Tuesday (9/18) and Thursday 9/20.  Tuesday will be from 2:45-4:30 in the Main Gym and Thursday will be 2:45-4:00 in the New Gym.  All are welcome.  Any questions see Coach Trendel.
