Boys Basketball Open Gym Schedule for next week: Open gyms will be held Tuesday (9/18) and Thursday 9/20. Tuesday will be from 2:45-4:30 in the Main Gym and Thursday will be 2:45-4:00 in the New Gym. All are welcome. Any questions see Coach Trendel.
There will be an informational meeting at 6pm on Tuesday, September 18th in room 113 for any students and parents interested in learning more about the college tour to schools in the D.C. and Carolina area over President's Day Weekend 2019. Questions? See Mrs. McArdle in the Explore office.
The first Hawk Talk will feature Marist seniors who attended college programs, interned, worked, and /or volunteered during summer 2018. This is a great way to learn from our seniors and learn what the Explore Program is all about. The event is from 7-8pm on Tuesday, September 18th. Explore students should attend, and all members of the Marist community are welcome.
The first Mock Trial meeting will be Wednesday, September 19th at 2:45 in room 113. The meeting will last about an hour. All returning members are expected to attend and new members are welcome. See Mrs. McArdle with any questions.

All speech and acting team members should report to the the theatre immediately after school for rehearsal for our Little RedHawk Reading Club service project on Wednesday.
Spanish Club: Did you know that Mexican Independence Day is NOT Cinco de Mayo? Spanish Club wants to commemorate The 15th of September with a "grito" competition, folkloric dances, and some trivia. Students Against Destructive Decisions will be meeting immediately after school tomorrow, Tuesday September 18, in Room 209. All new and existing members are encouraged to attend! French Club will be meeting this Thursday after school for a picnic and outdoor games from southern France. Come experience the culture of the French Mediterranean with us.
Congrats to the Girls Golf team for placing 5th out of 12 teams at the Celtic Swing on Saturday. The team was within 10 strokes of 1st place with a team score of 386. Top scores were shot by Tyler Murray, Mallorie Clifton, Hunter Guest, and Colleen O’Finn. Great job girls!
The Marist Varsity Men Cross Country Team traveled to Peoria last Saturday for the Peoria Notre Dame Richard Spring Invitational. The Varsity Men improved by nine places from 2017 to 2018, and posted 24 victories! The RedHawks were led by Captain Thomas Leonard. Leonard ran a personal best time of 15:23.4. Junior Caleb Davis finished second for the RedHawks with a personal best time of 17:17.8. Senior Lucas Pennix finished third for the RedHawks with a season best time of 17:27.0. Captain Colin Tracy finished fourth for the RedHawks with a season best time of 17:32.2. Senior Andres Castillo finished fifth for the RedHawks to complete the scoring with a personal best time of 17:46.4. Junior Luke Hortsman finished sixth for the RedHawks with a season best time of 17:57.7.
Building upon their 2nd place trophies at Reavis last weekend, the women’s cross-country team traveled to Peoria for the 70 team Notre Dame Invitational. Jill Borza medaled and established her best time. Also, setting great times were Nora McClorey, Amanda Tracy, Lindsey Richter, and Lilly Roche. Lastly, Nora McNicholas was the top frosh/soph finisher for Marist.
Congratulations to the girls varsity tennis team who defeated Providence Catholic High School 3-2! All three doubles teams swept with wins from Kat Balchunas, Bella Rabianski, Sonya Dremak, Molly Malloy, and Rocky Davis and Eliza Shroba who clinched the team win.
