WE NEED SENIOR BOYS!! Time is running out to sign up for the October Boys Kairos Retreat. The deadline to sign up is next Monday and you don’t miss out on this great program. You can get your permission form from Mr. Brennan in the Student Life Office or Deacon Andy in the Main Office. We need at least FIVE more guys to sign up to make a GO of this retreat!!

ATTENTION JUNIORS… GUYS AND GIRLS… We need you too! Now is the time to sign up for one of the two Junior Retreats in October or April. Permission forms are in the Student Life Office, with Mr. Ryan in Guidance, and in Deacon Andy’s office. Why not take one day away from everything and focus on your own well-being? Sign up NOW!

There will be an informational meeting at 6pm tonight, Tuesday, September 18th in room 113 for any students and parents interested in learning more about the college tour to schools in the D.C. and Carolina area over President's Day Weekend 2019. Questions? See Mrs. McArdle in the Explore office.

The first Hawk Talk will feature Marist seniors who attended college programs, interned, worked, and /or volunteered during summer 2018. This is a great way to learn from our seniors and learn what the Explore Program is all about. The event is from 7-8pm tonight, Tuesday, September 18th. Explore students should attend, and all members of the Marist community are welcome. 


The first Mock Trial meeting will be Wednesday, September 19th at 2:45 in room 113. The meeting will last about an hour. All returning members are expected to attend and new members are welcome. See Mrs. McArdle with any questions. 

Students Against Destructive Decisions will be meeting immediately after school today in Room 209.  All new and existing members are encouraged to attend!  We will be discussing upcoming programs, activities, and fundraising events.  Please see Mrs. Novak in the Guidance Department with questions. 

Calling all Chefs! Please bring your permission form and payment this Thursday, September 20th after school to 221. Still interested? Pick up a form in 221 from Ms. Silva.

Attention Anime Club:  We will meet every Thursday for anime club, in room 213, until 3:30 p.m.


There will be a meeting for any students interested in joining this year's Academic Team, today after school in room 107. This is for both new and returning members to the team. Freshmen and sophomores who have never played before and are interested in joining are especially welcome since there are slots to fil on the Frosh/Soph team. Any questions, please see Mr. Nicholson in room 107.


Spanish Club: Did you know that Mexican Independence Day is NOT Cinco de Mayo? Spanish Club wants to commemorate The 15th of September with a "grito" competition, folkloric dances, and some trivia. Join us this Friday in 214 after school. See Srta. Jorgensen or Sr. Arevalo for questions. Viva la independencia!


French Club will be meeting this Thursday after school for a picnic and outdoor games from southern France. Come experience the culture of the French Mediterranean with us.


Attention all current and interested members of ITS-International Thespian Society:  There will be a brief meeting in the theatre on Wednesday at 2:30.  Any questions-please see Mrs. Kelly or Mrs. Vail.




Student tickets for the Marist vs Mother McAuley girls Volleyball game will be distributed during lunch mods today. They are free, limit one per student.

On Saturday, in the 18 team Homewood Flossmoor Golf Invite, sophomore Ben Reidy shot a 75 to win the individual championship.

Congratulations to the varsity soccer team on their recent success.  The team played to a 0-0 draw against Carmel Mundelein on Saturday at home.  John Kennedy had the shutout.  Last night, the team won 5-0 at Nazareth.  Ethan Fit scored two and Aidan Gleeson, Brendan Raftery and Jimmy Valek each added one.  Clark Woodard and John Kennedy split the shutout.  The team improved to 7-2-1 including 3-0-1 in conference play and heads to Benet tomorrow.


Tonight the program heads to Minooka for a state finals rematch against Zoey Seput and the Indians. Game time is 6pm tickets available at the door. Congrats to Abigail Callahan on being named Daily Southtown player of the week. Way to go, Abigail!


Boys Basketball Open Gym Schedule for next week:  Open gyms will be held today, Tuesday (9/18) and Thursday 9/20.  Tuesday will be from 2:45-4:30 in the Main Gym and Thursday will be 2:45-4:00 in the New Gym.  All are welcome.  Any questions see Coach Trendel.
