The Marist varsity boys' cross country team won the Johnny Guldan Invitational last Saturday (9/26). The RedHawks won the meet with a score of 19 points (15 points is a perfect score), over Joliet Catholic Academy (51 points), and Chicago St. Patrick High School (61 points). The RedHawks were led by Marist junior Jake Phillips. Jake Phillips won his fourth consecutive race with an outstanding time of 15:29.6! Junior Andrew Kerlin finished second overall to earn a MEDAL with an outstanding time of 15:58.4! Marist captain Kevin Bugos (16:38.3) out kicked Joliet Catholic junior Owen O'Connor (16:38.7) to finish third overall to earn a MEDAL! Marist sophomore Danny Olsen BROKE HIS OWN SOPHOMORE COURSE RECORD (17:23) to finish fifth overall with an outstanding time of 17:00. Marist junior Michael Golden earned a MEDAL by finishing 8th overall with a personal best time of 17:39.5! Marist senior Jonathan Rivera finished in 9th place overall to earn a MEDAL with an outstanding time of 17:40.7. Marist freshman Jack Connor BROKE THE FRESHMAN COURSE RECORD (18:20, Mendoza, St. Ignatius) to finish 13th overall in the varsity race with an outstanding time of 18:11.7
