Your varsity RedHawks are 2-0 in their first 2 games of Catholic League play! They absolutely dominated the Fenwick Friars last evening by a score of 7-3! A great team effort was led by Senior Jack Christie with 4 goals and 1 assist! Fantastic Goaltending by Senior Michael Fischer and a stingy Defense led by Seniors Jon Malfas, Dominick Tuminello and Mike Prkut! Next game is Sunday 06 October at 6:15pm vs. Oswego at Morgan Park Sports Center, 115th and Western Avenue Chicago. Come out and support your winning RedHawks!
The Marist varsity boys' cross country team finished in SECOND place against a field of forty high schools at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational on Saturday. The Varsity Men had a record of 38-1 on the day. The RedHawks were led by senior Thomas Leonard (2nd place), Sophomore Jake Phillips (18th place), Sophomore Andrew Kerlin (28th place), junior Kevin Bugos (49th place), junior Tommy Kavanaugh (55th place), sophomore Brendan Geary (68th place), senior Luke Hortsman (79th place), and senior Caleb Davis (101st place). The sophomore Boys were led by the one-two punch of sophomores Michael Golden and Luke Bruin. Freshman Walter Fleming, sophomore Danny Enright, and sophomore Lester Scott completed the scoring for the Sophomore Boys Team. The sophomore boys posted 16 victories and upset ESCC rival St. Viator. Sophomore Gavin Carey, freshman Joe Kretzer, and freshman Jake Olsen ran 4K personal best times for the sophomore boys' team. Marist will travel to Niles West High School next Saturday for the Pat Savage Invitational.
