Attention all freshman and sophomore homeroom teachers:

Thank you for distributing the shadow sheets to students in your homeroom.

Please send all students who will have a shadow tomorrow immediately to the theatre for further instruction from Mrs. Brown.

Seniors, today is the last day to fill out the form for you Senior shirt. The form will be closed and order will be sent so make sure you fill it out!

There are still sign-ups for Homecoming Week activities during all lunch mods, Freshmen make sure you sign up as well!

If you are having trouble with the Homecoming Dance Google Form, make sure you are signed in with your email, it won’t let you fill it out if you are not signed in. If you have any questions please see Mr. Brennan in the SLO.

The Marist Theater Guild Presents "The Curious Savage."  Auditions will take place in the Redhawk Theater September 11 and 12 with callbacks on September 13.  See the callboard for more information.


There will be an informational meeting at 6pm on Tuesday, September 18th in room 113 for any students and parents interested in learning more about the college tour to schools in the D.C. and Carolina area over President's Day Weekend 2019. Questions? See Mrs. McArdle in the Explore office.


The first Hawk Talk will feature Marist seniors who attended college programs, interned, worked, and /or volunteered during summer 2018. This is a great way to learn from our seniors and learn what the Explore Program is all about. The event is from 7-8pm on Tuesday, September 18th. All members of the Marist community are welcome. 


Worth Township is currently recruiting for their Peer Jury Program. This program is designed as an alternative to Juvenile Court. They receive real cases from the local police departments as well as Bridgeview and Markham Courthouses. The cases are misdemeanors and minor civil infractions only.

The jurors hear the cases, and decide what the offenders need to complete as penalty for their offense.

Please pick up an application in the Guidance Office if you are interested in this program.

The Anti-Cruelty Society is currently accepting applications for two programs. Participants in The After School Advocates Program complete group volunteer projects to benefit shelter pets at the Anti-Cruelty Society facility. Teens Who Care is a volunteer program where students assist at the shelter facility with cleaning, organizing, animal socialization and special events. Are you interested in conversations and experiences that promote diversity and inclusion?  Are you into social justice and getting together with likeminded people looking to promote change?

If so, come to the EVOLVE club’s opening meeting in the Guidance department after school today Thursday September 6th.  All are welcome.

If you interested in signing up for the spring break trip to Barcelona, Provence, Nice, Florence, and Rome, please see Mrs. Cox in Guidance as soon as possible.  This trip is almost filled to capacity.  Once it is full, you will need to be added to a waiting list in the event that a spot opens up.

The chess team will have a brief meeting in the ARC on Monday at 2:30.   All returning members are expected to attend.  See you then.”

French Club will be having its first meeting of the year today, Thursday, September 6th after school in room 216 to make flags of French-speaking countries.


Marist technology club will have its first meeting of the year today Thursday the 6th after school in CS3. If you are into computers, gaming, and technology, all are welcome to come. See you there!

The Spanish Club is hosting the second annual Marist Tomatina to compare to the Tomatina festival held in Buñol, Spain. Students will be able to join the fun by throwing red water balloons filled with dyed red water in the breezeway on Friday September 7th after school from 2:45 to 3:45. Students must bring protective eyewear and wear white clothes that they will not mind ruining. There are forms requiring a parent/guardian signature available outside room Room 214, due now by Friday . These must be turned into your Spanish teacher in order to participate. See Ms. Jorgensen for questions.



Congratulations to the girls tennis team for earning their fourth consecutive program sweep, with wins over Stagg High School.

Winning for Marist were: Nicole Micklin at number one singles, Karina Joyce and third singles, and all three doubles flights of Kat Balchunas, Bella Rabianski, Sonya Dremak, Molly Malloy, Eliza Shroba, and Anna Allen. 

Congratulations to the varsity soccer team on their win over Joliet Catholic in the conference opener last night 7-0.  Brian Davila scored a hat trick and Pat Clancy added two as Alexis Arreola and Ethan Fit each added a goal.  John Kennedy and Clark Woodard split the shutout in the win.  The team is now 5-1 and would love to see everyone this Saturday as we host our neighborhood rival Br. Rice in the Pulaski Cup.  We will honor all military and first responders at halftime of the game.  Please join us this Saturday, Sept. 8 at 2:00 in the Red and White Stadium!


All girls that played soccer last season or are planning on participating this spring, can you please report to the varsity soccer field bleachers right after school today, Thursday the 6th for a quick meeting.

Boys Basketball Open Gym Schedule this week:   Today, Thursday (9/6) from 2:30-4:00 in the New Gym.  All are welcome.  Any questions see Coach Trendel.

Attention all Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors wishing to tryout for the Girls Basketball Team:

Open Gym for Girls Basketball will begin Tuesday, September 11, at 2:45 in the Main Gym.  Come dressed and ready to play.  All details of open gyms will be explained on that day.  If you have any questions, please see Coach Connolly.
