Marist Community

ATTENTION ALL MARIST STUDENTS LOOKING TO MAKE A LIFELONG MARIST FRIENDSHIP:

The Argentines are coming! 18 students from a Marist school in Buenos Aires will be here October 5-14 and we need host families to welcome them and be their new Marist brothers and sisters. Pick up an application outside of Room 216 and contact Mr. Brant (Rm. 224) with questions. Applications should be turned in by Friday, September 13, to your Spanish teacher.

Clubs

Marist Theatre Guild will hold auditions for the fall play, "Witness for the Prosecution," Tuesday and Wednesday in the RedHawk Theater after school.  Callbacks will take place Thursday.  A copy of the script has been placed in the ARC for preview as well as a character list on the call board outside the theater.  We will hold a brief informational meeting in the theater on Monday to answer any questions.  All are welcome to attend!

Congratulations to the varsity soccer team on their hard fought shootout victory over neighborhood rival Brother Rice in the Pulaski Cup on Saturday.  Jimmy Valek and Bryson Roberts each scored a goal in regulation and Aidan Gleeson, Jimmy Valek, Marc Carreon, Joe Shannon and Ethan Fit found the net in the shootout as Tom Walsh made two big saves to bring home the trophy.  Thanks to all the fans for your great support at the game and especially for all the donations to "Get Behind the Vest."  Between the two programs and the community, we raised over $3000 for this great cause.  The team improved to 4-1 and begins conference play this week as we host Joliet Catholic and St. Pat's on Wednesday and Thursday at 6:30.
