If your family is anything like mine, this time of year is filled with love, laughter, and maybe even a little discord! Some of you may also be familiar with another emotion that is new to my family—the sadness associated with losing a loved one. My uncle—the family patriarch—passed away eleven months ago and, for many of us, the pain of losing him is still very raw. Maybe I am overly optimistic, but I find solace in walking my uncle’s property and spending time with my extended family. For some, the sadness can be overwhelming and keeps them from experiencing the love and affection of those still living. I hope everyone is able to embrace the joy and pain that comes with being part of a family—it defines the human experience. May we all spread love and comfort to those we love, especially those going through tough times this holiday season.
Safe travels this week and God bless.
