Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing make you afraid.
All things are passing.
God alone never changes.
Patience gains all things.
If you have God you will want for nothing.
God alone suffices.
ST. TERESA OF AVILA
Last night when I couldn’t sleep I prayed and asked God to send me some peace. God reminded me of this prayer by St. Teresa of Avila. As I meditated on it I started to name the things in my life that aren’t changing... such as the love my family has for me, the waves that are still crashing on my favorite beach, and that Spring is still coming.
So much of our lives are in chaos right now, but God’s love and power is not. God is our good, good Father, so let us find peace and rest in His arms.
What isn’t changing in your life and what you are grateful for today?
Peace be with you.
