The Problem with Dandelions
It’s Springtime in Chicago and if your lawn is like mine, you probably have a healthy crop of dandelions. My neighbor’s lawn, on the other hand, is perfectly manicured and weed-free.
Consider this story…
A man who took great pride in his lawn found himself with a large crop of dandelions. He tried every method he knew to get rid of them. Still they plagued him. Finally he wrote to the Department of Agriculture. He listed all the things he had tried on the weeds and then closed his letter with the question: "What shall I do now?"
In due course, the reply came: "We suggest you learn to love them."
It’s exam time in our school. Is your classroom like my neighbor’s lawn or like mine? Do you look out from your desk chair and see rows of perfectly trimmed, neat, and alert students? Or do you have a few weeds mixed in there too?
Why not go easy on the weeds. In fact, why not learn to love them too.
