Hu-mil-i-ty: n. Not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself a little less
"For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 14:11
Hypocrisy is definitely easy. Humility is certainly hard. And like he almost always does, Jesus encourages us to do what is hard. Be humble he says. Be the last of all, the servant of all. Take up your cross, not your easy chair. Lift up others before you yourself are lifted up.
There are so many places to sit at the banquet table in the Kingdom of God. And even though Jesus knows our faults... usually too much hypocrisy and not enough humility... He invites us anyway.
We'll all get to the place of honor if we just follow Him!
