“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”
MATTHEW 11:28-30
A yoke is a really neat thing. It’s a simple thing that is used to tie two other things together… like oxen in a field. Yoked together they have no other option other than to work together. When Jesus tells us to take up his yoke, what he’s really saying is that he wants us to be tied together with him. He wants to work together with us and us with him.
Tied to Jesus, of course our work will be easy and our burden will be light.
