Winter Sports
On January 18, 2021, the Illinois Department of Health permitted the Chicago region to loosen coronavirus restrictions as the state changed its mitigation guidelines. As a result, low-risk winter sports at Marist including cheer, dance, and bowling will resume practice and competition against conference or COVID region opponents effective January 25, 2021. In addition, the Marist basketball teams which are currently categorized as high-risk sports will resume non-contact practice sessions.
Out – of – Season Sports
Pre-season strength and conditioning activity is permitted for all sports and will resume activity in the Mortimer Fitness Center. Out– of – season sports may also resume up to six hours of sport-specific “contact days” each week, following mitigations assigned to their risk level.
