Champagnat Day is April 20, 2023

This year, Marist will hold its annual day of giving on April 20, 2023. To augment our giving day, we will celebrate St. Marcellin Champagnat throughout the week. Below is a calendar listing the initial rundown of the week’s activities. We will have multiple opportunities at which faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the Marist community can participate.
April 14 & 15 (16 as rain date)
In conjunction with Campus Ministry, the service project will be on Friday and Saturday, with the rain date of Sunday. In the spirit of St. Marcellin and his brothers, who shared in the construction of their house, “Our Lady of the Hermitage,” we are asking our community to join us in rolling up our sleeves to help construct a home that will support hurricane victims through the Help Build Hope project. We will need volunteers both days. More details regarding registration will be shared soon.
April 17
Mondays with Mary is a weekly event that Brother Rich and Brigid Wolff have offered their time to ensure our community has the opportunity to pray the Rosary. On this date, Brother Rich will begin with a special prayer to St. Marcellin Champagnat and the Marist Brothers. All are welcome.
April 18
The Canonization of Saint Marcellin Champagnat, founder of the Marist Brothers, was celebrated on April 18, 1999 in Saint Peter’s Square in Vatican City. We will interview community members in attendance and share throughout the school and online.
April 19
We will host a Champagnat Day Mass to honor the founder of the Marist Brothers. Additionally, at this mass, we will celebrate our faculty and announce the Champagnat Award recipients of the year.
April 20 – DAY OF GIVING
Our annual giving day, Champagnat Day, will take place throughout the 24 hours on the 20th. Our goal this year is to raise $250,000 with the support of 1,200 donors. We will have “giving challenges” to support momentum throughout the day. The same platform will be used as last year. This platform will share real-time updates. New this year is the option to give via Venmo. We also will have a service component for students during the day centered on our pillars. Throughout the day and evening, we will feature live stream coverage from the school with Pat McGann ’94 & Alyssa Bergamini ’10. Additional details regarding challenges, Venmo, service projects, and more will be shared at a later date.
April 21
In conjunction with Student Activities, we will have a Champagnat Day Spring Rally. More details are forthcoming. We appreciate your support as we work to share the mission of Marist with our community and ensure a successful day of giving. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.
