Marist is excited to use iPads as a tool in the school's innovative curriculum. The program was introduced to freshmen and sophomores during the 2014-15 school year, with all levels having them for the 2016-2017 school year. This initiative brings the world to their fingertips and makes the opportunities for learning infinite as teachers can bend and even break the limitations of a traditional classroom.
The iPad gives the opportunity to combine education with technology and creativity. The possibilities that apps and e-books offer students and teachers alike are countless. This plan does not change Marist’s long-running commitment to challenging academics in the least. The iPad is a tool, not a replacement for high quality content and skilled teaching. It will help Marist students gain proficiency in 21st century learning skills that include problem solving, communication and collaboration, critical thinking, digital literacy, creativity, and innovation. All of these skills are necessary for college and or workplace applications.
