What is the admissions policy?
Marist offers an entrance exam every January as stipulated by the Archdiocese of Chicago. All prospective eighth graders are invited to take the exam. Those results, along with 7th and 8th grade grades and standardized test scores are examined. Marist offers three academic programs, serving a spectrum of student abilities.

When did Marist open?
Marist High School opened its doors on September 9, 1963, with a charter class of 320 boys. In 2013, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Has Marist always been coed?
Marist High School opened as an all boys school in 1963. In the late 1990s, a growing desire from alumni and the community for a school where families could send both their sons and daughters emerged. After significant research, preparation, and training, Marist accepted its first coed class in 2002. The first coed class graduated in 2006.
