The Latest Issue of The Point: Celebrating Simplicity and the Spirit of Marist
By Larry Tucker ’79, President of Marist High School
Dear Marist Family,
This year, our community reflects on the Marist Pillar of Simplicity — a value rooted in humility, authenticity, and quietly doing good for others. It reminds us that greatness does not always need a spotlight. Often, the most meaningful impact comes from modest, steady efforts made with love and purpose.
In my 28th year at Marist, I continue to be inspired by the quiet strength of our mission and the people who bring it to life. Whether it’s a teacher staying late to help a student, an alumnus mentoring the next generation, or a donor giving generously without recognition, these moments — simple yet powerful — are what define Marist.
Our students learn that simplicity is not about doing less; it’s about doing what is right, with sincerity and heart. That spirit is alive in our classrooms, on our fields, and throughout our alumni network.
I am grateful to be part of this mission and even more grateful for the many hands and hearts that sustain it. Thank you for walking with us, quietly, faithfully, and with purpose, as we continue to make Jesus Christ known and loved.
Warmly,
Larry Tucker ’79
President, Marist High School
