Education

Marist High School partners with the Chicago Public Schools Driver Education Program
to provide classroom driver education instruction on the Marist campus. Instruction is
taught by a certified Chicago Public School Driver Education instructor and is not part of
Marist High School’s academic curriculum. This program is offered exclusively as a
convenience for Marist students only throughout the school year.

Fall 2026 – Registration will open on Monday, August 24th
Session #1: September 2nd to September 30 th
Session #2: (To be announced)

Classes will meet Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 pm to 4:30
pm. (room to be determined). Students must attend each class to meet the Illinois state
requirements for classroom instruction.
To be eligible, students must:
– Be 15 years of age before the first day of class.
– Bring their iPad to each class.
– Be in good standing with the Dean’s Office regarding academics, attendance and
discipline.

Enrollment is limited to 32 students and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Submission of a registration form does not guarantee enrollment. All applications are
subject to approval by the Dean of Students for Underclassmen.

Program Costs
Driver’s Ed Course Registration – $90 paid online during registration
Illinois Driver’s Permit – $20 (check payable to Secretary of State collected during
class when requested by the instructor)
Range/Behind the Wheel (held at Bogan/Morgan Park – $50 (paid electronically to
Chicago Public Schools during class when registering for Behind-the-Wheel)
Complete the registration form and submit the $90 online registration fee. The Dean’s
Office will review the application for final enrollment status.
