Alyssa Bergamini ’10: A Voice for the Fans and a Trailblazer in the Booth

Alyssa Bergamini ’10 has built an impressive career in sports media, becoming one of the most recognizable in-stadium personalities in Chicago. She has spent 11 seasons with the Chicago White Sox, beginning with the Pride Crew and stepping into the spotlight as on-field emcee in 2017. Her voice and presence have energized fans at Guaranteed Rate Field and across the city.

In 2023, Alyssa made franchise history when she became the first female public address announcer for the White Sox, filling in for longtime announcer Gene Honda, who has held the role since 1985. It was a milestone moment, made even more meaningful by her personal connection to Honda. Years earlier, as a college sophomore at the University of Iowa, Alyssa interviewed Honda for a journalism assignment titled “The Man with the Golden Pipes.” That experience planted the seeds for her career in sports media, and years later, she found herself sitting in his seat, microphone in hand.

Alyssa’s work extends beyond the ballpark. She has hosted White Sox panels, contributed to the team’s YouTube channel, and worked across a variety of media platforms in Chicago, blending sports knowledge with a vibrant on-screen presence. She is known for her professionalism, adaptability, and ability to connect with fans of all ages.

From Marist to the mic, Alyssa’s career is marked by hard work, opportunity, and a commitment to storytelling. Whether energizing crowds on game day or breaking new ground in the broadcast booth, she continues to lead by example in the world of sports media and broadcasting.
