Creating Championship Moments Behind the Scenes

If you have ever been to a Boston Celtics game, there is a good chance Erin Kelly ’09 helped shape your experience. As the Senior Manager of Guest Experience and Arena Operations for the Celtics, Erin leads the charge in creating positive, lasting memories for fans at TD Garden. Her role blends operations, service, and strategy, ensuring every game feels seamless, electric, and unforgettable.

After graduating from Marist and Stonehill College, Erin joined the Celtics in sales and quickly discovered a passion for connecting with people through live sports. Over the past 12 years with the organization, she has grown into a leadership role, managing customer service platforms, collaborating with TD Garden’s operations team, and developing fan-focused initiatives that reflect the Celtics’ legacy. She was promoted to senior manager in 2023.

Erin’s favorite part of the job is the fans. “Each person attends a game for their own specific reason, and my job is to make sure they leave wanting to come back,” she says. From resolving service issues to organizing surprise moments, Erin ensures that every guest feels welcomed and valued.

Her highlight reel is packed with unforgettable moments, from traveling to NBA Finals games to helping host Paul Pierce’s and Kevin Garnett’s jersey retirements, and most recently, celebrating the team’s 2024 NBA Championship win, where she received her Banner 18 championship ring. In 2019, she was honored with the Bobby Vines Outstanding Service Award, given to Celtics staff who go above and beyond to support fans and colleagues alike.

Reflecting on her time at Marist, Erin credits her experience as a student-athlete and ambassador for teaching her how to lead with heart and positivity. Her advice: “Step into each day with a positive attitude and try to maintain that positive attitude no matter the challenges or obstacles you face.”

From the halls of Marist to the rafters of TD Garden, Erin has built a career around service, sports, and bringing joy to others.
