Advocating for Children’s Health and Safety
Dr. Kellie Snooks ’07 is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin and an attending physician in Pediatric Critical Care at Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Her work centers on caring for critically ill and injured children, often in life-threatening situations, with a commitment to both medical excellence and compassionate family support.
After graduating from Marist, Kellie earned her medical degree and a Master of Public Health. She completed her Pediatrics residency at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois, followed by a Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, which she completed in 2021.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Snooks is a dedicated advocate for firearm injury prevention, working at both the state and federal levels. She serves on multiple leadership boards, including the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and partners with organizations to advance policies that protect children and communities from gun violence.
Kellie is currently leading a community-based research project in Milwaukee designed to elevate youth voices in the national conversation on gun violence prevention. Her leadership in this area has earned her selection as the 2026 Wisconsin National Academy of Medicine State Health Policy Fellow, where she will spend a year embedded in Wisconsin’s health policy landscape to help shape evidence-based solutions.
Balancing her roles as a physician, educator, researcher, and advocate, Dr. Kellie Snooks continues to make an impact both inside and outside the hospital, driven by her commitment to improving health outcomes and creating safer communities for children.
