Marist High School has been named to the College Board’s 2024–2025 Advanced Placement Program School Honor Roll, earning Gold distinction for student achievement and expanded access to Advanced Placement coursework.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose Advanced Placement programs deliver strong academic results while also broadening participation. Schools earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to building a strong college-going culture, expanding access to rigorous coursework, and supporting college readiness for all students.

Academic Achievement and Access

During the 2024–2025 academic year, 65 percent of Marist seniors took at least one AP Exam, 52 percent scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 12 percent completed five or more AP Exams.

Marist currently offers 22 AP courses, with 43 AP sections taught by 19 AP instructors. These offerings span a wide range of disciplines and are designed to challenge students academically while providing the support needed for success in college-level coursework.

This year’s Gold distinction represents an advancement from Marist’s Silver recognition in the previous academic year, reflecting continued growth in both student participation and performance in Advanced Placement courses.

Supporting Student Success

“This recognition reflects the intentional work our teachers and counselors do to support students at every level,” said Joy Lewis, Dean of Student Success at Marist High School. “We believe advanced coursework should be accessible, supportive, and meaningful. Our goal is not just participation, but helping students build confidence, academic skills, and readiness for college and beyond.”

“AP gives students the opportunity to engage with college-level work, earn college credit and placement, and build academic skills they can use no matter what path they choose after high school,” said Trevor Packer, head of the AP program at College Board. “Congratulations to this year’s AP School Honor Roll recipients for proving it is possible to expand participation in rigorous courses while maintaining strong performance.”
