Marist will celebrate the arts in April with a series of events showcasing student talent.
The decorated speech and acting team will hold a showcase performance on Friday, April 12 at 7 p.m. in the RedHawk Theater. Team members will perform pieces from a variety of categories. Admission is $5 per person with all proceeds going towards the team's trip to nationals in Milwaukee in May.
The band will offer two spring concerts. On Saturday, April 13 the group will perform at 7 p.m. and again at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14. The concert will take place in the school's main gym. Tickets are $5 per person and will be sold at the door. The group is fresh from its tour through Toronto, Canada, where the students performed and took in the historical sites. The concert will feature classical, pop, and program music and hits from The Greatest Showman.
The senior art show will take place on Thursday, April 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Murphy Art Center. It will feature student photography, drawing, painting, ceramics, and graphic design. The seniors have been diligently working to complete their portfolios for this always-popular event. A sneak peek of the work is available here. The event is free.
Also on Thursday, April 25, the Brothers Chapel will be filled with the sounds of the season. The string ensemble will begin the evening with a performance at 6 p.m. Just down the hall in the RedHawk Theater the chorus will perform at 7 p.m. Both events are free and attendees should enter through the main office doors at the west end of the building. A senior solo choral concert will be held May 9.
On May 8, students enrolled in broadcasting will hold an inaugural showcase where short videos will debut. The event will be be held in the RedHawk Theater. The red carpet rolls out at 6:30 p.m. and awards begin at 7 p.m. Check out their invite video.
