5 Reasons to Attend Marist High School’s Open House in Chicago

By Kelsey Callahan, Director of Admissions at Marist High School

Choosing the right high school is a big decision, and visiting in person is one of the best ways to know if a school is the right fit. At Marist High School, our Open House gives families the chance to experience our community, meet our teachers and coaches, and see firsthand what makes us the #1 Private School in the Southland.

Here are five reasons why you won’t want to miss it.

1. Explore Our Campus

Marist sits on a 55+ acre campus with modern classrooms, state-of-the-art athletic facilities, and spaces designed for collaboration and creativity. During Open House, you will receive a student-led tour through these spaces to give you insight on where students learn, compete, and grow every day. As you walk through our hallways, you will see student work on display, see classrooms in action, and learn more about our continued updates to our school. From our IDEA Classroom to the Planetarium, our facilities and classrooms will impress you!

2. Meet Teachers, Coaches, and Counselors

Families often say that meeting our teachers and staff is one of the highlights of the Open House. As you walk through the halls at Marist, you will hear directly from the teachers who are passionate about what they do and who inspire our Marist students every day. You will also meet our dedicated coaches behind the 31 athletic programs who work with student-athletes on and off the field. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to meet and hear about how our counselors are supporting students while they are at Marist and how they are continuously helping them think about and achieve their goals after graduation. You will see firsthand how much our teachers, coaches, counselors, and staff love Marist and what they do. Their commitment to our students shines through in all that they do. Come see it for yourself!

3. Learn About Our Academic Programs

We know that every student has unique strengths, goals, and learning styles. Marist offers four academic programs, all of which are college preparatory, designed to challenge and support students to help them excel. From our one-of-a kind Marcellin Program, to our traditional Academic, Honors, AP, and dual enrollment courses, there is a path for many learners to succeed and thrive.

At Open House, you will hear directly from our teachers and learn how our programs are designed to prepare students for college, career, and life after Marist.

4. Experience Student Life

With 42 clubs and activities ranging from academic teams and art programs to cultural groups, leadership opportunities, service, and everything in between – student life at Marist is full of energy, creativity, and connection. Whether your student wants to join Student Council, sing in choir, lead a service project, or try something new, there’s truly something for everyone.

During Open House, you will meet some of the amazing students that bring Marist High school to life every day. They will share what it is really like to be part of this community and how easy it is to get involved, make friends, and find your place at Marist.

5. See What Sets Marist Apart

Faith. Family. Future. These aren’t just words, they define the Marist experience. At Open House, you will see how our values, academics, athletics, and strong sense of community come together to provide students with opportunities that last a lifetime.

You will hear how Marist helps students grow in faith, feel a true sense of belonging, and build a future filled with possibility.
